ABSTRACT

            The research aims (1) to study the Buddhists’ views to the role of Sangha in community development in Banphaew District, Samutsakhon Province, (2) to compare the Buddhists’ views as above mentioned classified by personal status, and (3) to study the problems and suggestions of the Buddhists to solves the problems and obstacles in the said area. Used in the study are the populations, i.e. the 384 of Buddhists in Banphaew District, Samutsakhon Province. Research instruments were questionnaires, analyzed the data with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D), hypothesis tested with t-test for two-valued variables and F-test or One-Way ANOVA for more than 3 valued variables. In case of differentiation was found, it was compared by Least significant Difference : LSD.

The results of the research show that :

           1. The opinion of the Buddhist who has a role in the community development in the Buddhist priest in Banphaew District, Samutsakhon Province found that ; the opinion Buddhist a role in the community development in the Buddhist priest. The overall stays many levels are valuable share ( = 3.50)

            2. The compare with the opinion of the Buddhist who has a role in the community development in the Buddhist priest in Banphaew District, Samutsakhon Province. Separate follow personal factor found that ; the Buddhist who have the gender and educational different background think different generally important implily statistics way that .01 level. Which be in line with location hypothesis keeps Buddhist old different part think not different generally which do not be in line with location hypothesis keeps.

            3. The problems and suggestions are as follows : the Sanghas received less cooperations from the concerned organizations, lacking in supporting budget from the Sangha organizations and also from the government sectors, people do not understand the objectives of propagation of Sangha in social as well as cultural development. There are insufficient to suit the instruments of propagation and coordination in the field of public health. Furthermore, the problems and suggestions such as the Sangha supervisors should give the knowledge and advice before propagation. The concerned organizations should give appropriate budget to support continually. There should make understand to the people the matters they want. Apart from these, other necessary to manual and working operation be supported. The Sangha themselves have to develop their knowledge and capability to convince people to accept their roles in communication development.
