The thesis entitled “A Study of Buddha  Dhamma  and Value as Appeared   in Lanna  Yuntian : A  Case Study of Amphur Muang, Lampang Province” consists of 3 purposes;  1) to study the background, kind and the purpose of the producing and using yuntian 2) to study the principle of the Buddha’s teaching as appeared in the Lanna Yuntian 3) to examined theirs importance and value of yuntian affected Lanna people’s way of life, especially in Lampang province.  

The result revealed that the Yuntian was the ancient ceremony of the Lanna’s people and unable to determine the exact date and time. However, it was assumed that this rituals and believes may be descended from the cult of Brahmanism through the territory of Myanmar and Mon to the Lanna region.  The Lanna Yuntian can be divided into two kinds: the righteousness or the white one and the evils or the black one. The actual purposes of the LannaYuntian were to eliminate the folks’ sufferings. The three main purposes of the Yuntian worshiping were to avoid from the adversity, to gain good luck and to live long life or blissful fortunes.

The Buddha’s teachings found in the Lanna Yuntian can be categorized as the Tisaranagamana or the Threefold Refuge, Tilakkhaņa or the Three Characteristics, Ariyasacca or the Four Noble Truths, Ditthadhammikattha or the Present, Bojjhanga or the Seven Factors of Enlightenment, Buddhaguņa or Virtues of the Buddha, Dasaparamî or the Ten Perfection and the heedfulness. The above mentioned Buddhist doctrines have been summarized and written on the Yantra and applied as the method for propagating Buddhism. 

The virtues of the talisman and worshipers were Tisikkhã or the Threefold Training, Puññakiriyãvatthu or bases of meritorious action, Sangahavatthu or bases of sympathy, Brahmavihãra or sublime states of mind and Ariyamagga or the Eightfold Noble Path.  Even though, these doctrines did not directly appeare in the Yuntian but the talisman and the Yuntian worshiper must practice and keep in their mind.
