The aim of this research was to study the specific characteristics of Buddha’s disciples, to study the story and works of Luangpoola Tathip and to analyze his specific characteristics.

The result can be found that many specific characteristics lie on the Buddha’s disciples, they are: The Elder Añña-Kondañña was the elder of long standing. The supernormal power ones were The Elder Moggallana, The Elder Revatakhadiya, The Elder Kaludayi, The Elder Sagata and The Elder Pindola Bharadvaja. The compassionate ones were The Elder
Añña-Kondañña, The Elder Maha Kassapa, The Elder Ãnanda, The Elder Revatakhadiya and The Elder Angulimala. One who possessed divine eyes was The Elder Anuruddha. One who possessed an application of exertion was The Elder Sonฺa Kolivisa. The humble ones were The Elder Nalaka, The Elder Rahula and The Elder Radha. An austere practiced one was The Elder Maha Kassapa. The grateful ones were The Elder Sariputta and The Elder Rahula. The interested ones in study were The Elder Ãnanda and The Elder Rãhula. Ones who possessed the Knowledge were The Elder Yasa, The Elder Gayakassapa, The Elder Angulimala and The Elder Culapanthaka. One giving the Dhamma-preaching and answering the Dhamma-question was The Elder Kumara Kassapa.

In case of the Biography and works of Luangpoola Tathip, he was born in 2441 B.E. at Ban Pong, On Thai sub-district, San Kamphaeng district, Chiang Mai province. His father was Mr. Ngern Boonmakham and his mother was Mrs. Keaw Boonmakham. There were five persons in his family, he was the fifth one.

Luangpoola Tathip became a novice in the same time of monks practice
 of staying in the jungle which is the important ceremony of Buddhism in Lanna. This yearly took place in the December to February. When he was 20 years, he has entered into the monkhood. His ordination name was Cando. His preceptor was Khruba Pinta. His qualities were
a wonderful personality and behavior, a good manner, a humble, a generous for co-religionists,
a gentle, a pleasant speech, a polite, and a compassionate. His title name was given by the King as Phrakhrucantasamanagun. When he was alive, he has supported the management and administration of education of monks in both the Nakdham and Pali course in Chiang Mai. And he has supported the monks and novices, studying Nakdham and Pali, by providing scholarships.  Furthermore, he also has provided scholarships to general students in every year. In administration way, he was an abbot of Wat Pa Tueng, on Thai sub-district, San Kamphaeng district, ChiangMaiProvince. Later he was also appointed as the ecclesiastical head of on Thai district of and was appointed as a preceptor respectively.  

There were two specific characteristics of Luangpoola Tathip, the first specific characteristic is the divine eyes, that is to say, he could astonishingly knew the incident in advance.  The story said that all monks and novices were told to move immediately because it would be the rainstorm and a large sugar palm would crush the monk’s cell. When monks and novices moved from their cells, soon after, a large sugar palm crushed the monk’s cell as he predicted. He was praised by his disciples. Thus he was called “Luangpoola Tathip” or
(Reverend Grand Father who got the divine eyes) at that time. The second specific characteristic is the architecture, he could paint the Buddha’s history which appeared beautifully on the wall of Wat Pa Tueng. He could craft the preaching throne, the altar, the urn for keeping the Buddha relics, the visitor’s chair, and the candlestick, the pediment of the old hall and the plaster base of the Buddha image in Lanna style.
