Abstract

This  research “ The  Analytical  Study  of   the  relationship  between  the  regulations given by the Buddha and the Kings at  the  Buddha’s time”  is  of  3  objectives namely  :-   1)  The   study  of   the  principles  and   the  reasons  in  the  Buddhist  regulations  given  by  the  Buddha.   2)  The   study  of   the  relationship  between  the  regulations given by the Buddha and  the Kings at  the  Buddha’s time.          3)  The  Analytical  Study  of   the   regulations  given by the Buddha  and the Kings  at  the  Buddha’s time.

From  the research,  it is found that :-

The regulations given by the Buddha arose because of  Bhikkhus’  and Bhikkhunīs’  behaviours damaging  Buddhism.   It  caused all the people blame them. When  the  Buddha  knew  that,   he met the monks,  and asked them the questions.                At  last the Buddha received the right answers from them.  The Buddha, then, issued the regulations which were the prohibitions and the regulations.  The Buddha gave them both the good side and the bad one.

There were many regulations given by the Buddha which indicated that Buddhism is compliance with the king and the country.  For example, King Bimbisara changed the date of the rainy season (Vassānavasa).  King Bimbisara  in  Rajagaha,            the capital of  Magadha  and  King Pasendhi Kosala in the Kingdom of  Kosala had some relationship in the Buddhism, the  regulations.

The  relationship  between  the Buddhist regulations given by the Buddha and the Kings at the Buddha’s time caused  the King to go to meet the Buddha and said about  Bhikkhus’ and Bhikkhunīs’ behaved Buddhism to the Bhuddha.  Sometimes  the   King said with  Bhikkhu to ask  the Buddha.  Sometimes  the   King  blame  Bhikkhus or Bhikkhunīs  who  damaged  Buddhism,  and  sometimes the people  blame   Bhikkhus  or  Bhikkhunīs  who   behaved  improperly to  the King.  The  Buddha’s  regulations are of both the prohibition and permission.  The  Buddha’s  was  issued according to the power of state for protecting the faith in Buddhism continue up to the present time  in  Thai societies
