Opinions on Buddhist education management : A Case Study of Chomnimit School Phrapradeang Samutprakarn Province 2010

Abstract

The main objectives of this research were i) to study the opinions of teachers and students’ guardians towards  educational administration in Buddhist ways in Wat Chomnimit School; and ii) to compare the opinions of teachers and students’ guardians towards  educational administration in Buddhist ways in Wat Chomnimit School.  The survey research was carried out in this study. A group of samples for this study consisted of  302 teachers and students’ guardians of Wat Chomnimit School in academic year 2009, being drawn by simple random sampling technique.  The tool for data collection  in this research was questionnaire comprising personal characteristics, the opinions of teachers and students’ guardians towards  educational administration in Buddhist ways in Wat Chomnimit School and opened end questions. The programme for social science research was employed for data analysis. The statistics used for it are frequencies, percentage ,  average means and standard deviation. The data analysis was also done through t-test for testing the hypotheses in order to test the average difference between the two groups and f- test by one-way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA) and Least Significant Difference : LSD) were used for testing the difference between the averages from three or more groups.

 

 

The findings of Research were concluded as follows:

              Majority of respondents were male students’ guardians, aged between 36-45 years. Most of them completed Bachelor degrees, worked in government services and state enterprises with monthly income between 5,001-10,000 Baht and their students studied at sixth class.

              The overall opinions of teachers and students’ guardians towards  educational administration of Wat Chomnimit School in Buddhist ways in respect of academic, personnel, student activities, coordination, finance and materials, buildings, relationship between school and community, ethics and morality were found at the high level.  Having considered by each aspect, it was also rated at the high levels in all aspects.
