This thesis aims at studying the Buddha Dhammas regarding the family life of Thai women who are married the foreigners led by Panca-sila : the Five Precepts ( rule of morality) and Sangahavatthu (bases of social solidarity sympathy, acts of doing favours and principles of service ) studying economic , social and cultural impact to 57 Thai women who are married the foreigners in Nonghong District , Burirum Province by using questionaires about Buddha Dhamma for family life and using “Focus Group” method for 13 couples. This is a quality descriptive research from analyzing the contents of “Focus Group” . Statistic for analysis is percentage.
According to Sociology , the kind of wedding between Thai women and the foreigners is called cross – cultural wedding.
From this studying ; it is found that :-
The Thai women who are married the foreigners in Nonghong District , Burirum Province have Panca-sila : the Five Precepts and Sangahavatthu , even though some of them can’t preserve the whole Panca-sila and Sangahavatthu and some who never know about Panca-sila and Sangahavatthu but practice it automatically. Moreover , the some Thai young women who are married Thai men never study or practice Panca-sila and Sangahavatthu or go to the temple together. They have to take care of their husbands as the bosses. This makes Thai men too comfortable and irresponsible. Therefore , Thai married men like drinking , betting and having another love affair that causes the family’s problems and leads to the family life failure. When Thai women meet and marry the foreigners , they are very well taken care of because the foreign culture , the married men are responsible and loyal to their family, but not extravagant . It is obvious that the foreigners follow the rules of Panca-sila and Sangahavatthu . In the past , The Thai women who married the Thai men and faced the difficult lives . They had to go to a temple, to practice Dhamma and have Dhamma conversation with the monks for releasing their difficult feeling of their lives. So , when they are married to the foreigners , they have better economy, lives, and are accepted by the community . They have a chance to practice Buddhist activities by asking their husbands to go to the temple for practising the Dhamma. In conclusion, the Thai women in Burirum Province who are married the foreigners conduct their lives with the Panca-sila and Sangahavatthu Dhammas have better lives and happier families.
