Abstract

There are 3 purposes for this study of motivation establishment following the Buddha’s Technique of Teaching: 1) to study the related theories and concepts on motivation establishment; 2) to study the motivation establishment  existing in The Buddha’s techniques of teaching; 3) To propose the application of the motivation establishment  following the Buddha’s techniques of Teaching to the modern society.

The results of the study applying documentary research approach revealed that, before teaching, the Buddha prepared readiness of the audience belonging to every caste and every class. The physical mental motivation establishment of the audience was performed. The Buddha started His teaching by creating faith from the audience by conferring convincing speech, encouraging speech, physical miracle exposure, teaching media application, figurative speech, stories telling and gradual instruction (Annupubbikath)

The principles of motivation establishment following theBuddha’s techniques of teaching were listed: creating faith towards the Buddha among the audience; clarifying the doctrine until the audience was inspired and convinced to perform practice; understanding of materialism and consumerism; realizing merits and demerits of usefulness and unusefulness; and visioning the strategies of self practice in order to apply them correctly while leading life. The suggestion included the advantages of those techniques for the true society development and utilization
