There are three main purposes in this thesis 1) to study the understanding of contentment as found in Buddhism, 2) to study the practice of Contentment of people and 3) to compare the difference between personal factors and practice of contentment and compare the difference between understandings of contentment and practice of contentment of people in Nong Kha village, Nong Hiang sub-district, Phanatnikhom district, Chonburi province. The population in this study is 134 of households in the village using a simple random. Methodology in this study is open and closed questions including a survey of the community context. The statistics used in this study included frequency (Frequency), percentage (Percentage) the rank (Rank) Mean ( ) and a flat, standard deviation (S.D.) and comparisons between different factors. Personal behavior to comply with solitary measured by the t–test and F–test or Oneway ANOVA and examine the relationship between the understandings of primary solitary behavior to comply with solitary measured by the t–test statistical significance was used. Set at 0.05. with the model presented in tables and lectures. The results are summarized as follows:.
The results of the study were found that People in the community understand the contentment about 6 to 10 and another 4 in 10 has little understanding of core solitude. There is a major misconception about the contentment that the contentment is the obstacle of development and social progress and cannot be detached main problem of poverty.
For the practice of contentment it is found that most of people follow the contentment with what one gets and deserves to get (yathalabha – santosa) and contentment what is within one’s strength or contentment with what is befitting (yathasaruppa – santosa) respectively.
To compare the difference between the behavior of hiring practices by the main reason that the solitude of personal and household Pr encompasses sex, age, number of persons in household educational level, marital status, occupation, monthly income. Religious and economic differences in household compliance solitary difference is not significant statistically at least 0.05.
The relationship between the understanding of primary solitary behavior to comply solitude found that people who are less likely to understand the main detached compliance and secluded than the main group, who understands very secluded. Compliance with secluded higher statistically significant at 0.01 and 0.05.
The problems and suggestions that people lowest follow contentment with what in befitting especially for the conduct by ethics etc. and morality, problem of harmony, problem of loan, crime problems for the solutions all sectors of the houses were measured in school to educate and encourage compliance in solitude compliance with norms of religions and promote activities that emphasize the unity of the community. Staging people to come together community development by using the sufficiency economy. No distinction is that the main activity only solitary individuals alone, but should the public events where everyone involved.
