Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

                The research aims to study the problem situation and the roles of the monks on temples’ administration by using good governance in the area of Ban Hong District, Lamphun Province with the district monk heads, the district monk deputy heads, the sub-district heads, the abbots and the monks in Ban Hong District, Lamphun Province which covers 6 districts, 51 temples. The statistical analysis used in the study is percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation and is presented in table and description. The result of the study reveals as the followings:

                The district monk heads, the district monk deputy heads, the sub-district monk heads, the abbots, the deputy abbots and the regular monks have problems in administrating the temple by using the good governance in the low level – medium level. It is assumed that in the present the good governance has gain interest in a wide range. Both the government organization and private organization have seen it as an important priority and apply the doctrine in their administration to make the most efficient administration for the citizens, aiming to be free from the control and let the executives reach the goal.

                Apart from convincing the role of each position, the preparation should be inspected on the authority of the process. This doctrine is not exceptional for temple, with the use of good governance, the problem level is then in the low to medium level.

The study of the monks reveals that the role of the district heads, the sub-district heads, the abbots, the deputy abbot and the regular monks in administration can be measured by the good governance in several aspects, they are 1) governing 2) education 3) public aid 4) public construction 5) religion promotion and the use of the following doctrine : 1) the rule of law 2) moral 3) transparency 4) rule of participation 6) rule of worth work are in the medium – high level in every position of the monks.

                The role of administration by using good governance is important in organizing temple and community, making people live with each other peacefully and harmonically, creating the sustainable development as well as preventing the future danger to the temple.  The society will feel the justice, transparency and participation which is an important quality of human dignity and the democracy governing with the King as the chief of the state.

                The promoting to use good governance is joined by the temples, community and the involved organizations such as those who have role on making the basement and maintain the regulation. Setting the good governance needs to depend on the efficient management, the legal responsibility and transparent policy that can be inspected so that the administration system can be improved under the law frame. The objectives of setting good governance are to transform the administration system which gets along with logic and the responsibility and it will have the responsible system on financial in the system too.
