The objectives of this research were; 1) to study the state of relationship between school and community in schools under Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Secondary Educational Service Area 3, 2) to study principles and methods of building relationship between school and community and Buddhist administrative principles supporting relationship building, and 3) to propose a guideline of relationship building based on Buddhist educational administration between school and community in schools under Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Secondary Educational Service Area 3. The data were collected by rating scale questionnaires with reliability at 0.95 from 368 samples consisting of teachers and students’ parents obtained by stratified random sampling. The data were analysed by frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The results of the study found that:
1. The state of relationship between school and community in schools under Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Secondary Educational Service Area 3 classified by aspects was at the high level overall on the relationship building between school and community and network, community services, community development participation, assistance from community, and performance evaluation on community and network operation.
2. Principles and methods of relationship between school and community in schools under Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Secondary Educational Service Area 3 were at the high level overall. In details, the highest level was on the relationship building between school and community and network, followed by community services, community development participation, assistance from community, and performance evaluation on community and network operation respectively.
3. Guidelines of relationship building based on Buddhist educational administration between school and community in schools under Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Secondary Educational Service Area 3 were as follows; In the relationship building between school and community and network, schools had meetings with students’ parents/guardians to inform them about the school policy and performance. School committee attended school meetings in educational plan setting, educational developing and educational management; In community services, schools provided services and facilities for communities in occasions, activities, local cultural promotion, and vocational and income promotion for students; In community development participation, teachers participated in community trainings, seminars and activity campaigns as speakers or moderators, and led students to participate the activities with local cultural performances; In assistance of community, community leaders or distinguished individuals regularly participated school activities, community scholars were invited to transfer local wisdom to students, and community clubs, foundations and associations gave assistances and scholarships to students, and In performance evaluation on community and network operation, schools evaluated their performance by reporting study performance, behaviours and health of students to students’ parents/guardians, brought evaluation analysis in work performance improvement in relationship building with communities, and school committee and communities worked together in evaluation and monitor the school management.
