A Guideline of Academic Administration Promotion Based on Iddhipada 4 in Triam Udom Suksa Pattanakarn Nonthaburi School, Nonthaburi Province

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were: 1) to analyze the state of academic administration of Triam Udom Suksa Pattanakarn Nonthaburi School, 2) to study principles of effective academic administration and the application of the four principles of Iddhipada 4, and 3) to propose a guideline for academic administration promotion based on Iddhipada 4 in Triam Udom Suksa Pattanakarn Nonthaburi School, Nonthaburi Province.  The mixed research methods were used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaires from 123 samples and analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.  The qualitative data were collected from documents and in-depth interviews with 5 key-informants and then analyzed content analysis.

The results of the study found that:

1. The academic administration of Triam Udom Suksa Pattanakarn Nonthaburi School was at a high level overall. The highest level was on learning management, followed by curriculum management, measurement and evaluation management, and teaching and learning media management respectively.

2. Principles of effective academic management and application of the principles of Iddhipada 4 consisted of; 1) Principles of effective academic management in four aspects: curriculum, teaching and learning, teaching and learning media, teaching and learning measurement and evaluation.  The principles and methods of operation to facilitate the management were;  (1) the school curriculum must be based on the core curriculum framework of basic education and relevant to conditions and environment of communities and society  under the monitor of teachers, administrators, parents and community involved, (2) the quality and standard of education can be verified by  quality indicators, curriculum and learning process in every study level,  (3) community and society are encouraged to participate in curriculum design, learning process as well as network and learning resources, (4) networks are encouraged to work together to improve efficiency, quality and development of education,  and (5) the learner-centered- learning process must be supported. 2) The application of the four principles of Iddhipada 4 in academic administration promotion.

3. The guidelines for academic administration promotion based on Iddhipada 4 in Triam Udom Suksa Pattanakarn Nonthaburi School were as follows: 1) in the curriculum, teachers should have a passion for curriculum operation, keep up the teaching and learning plans with passion for success, attend training programs on curriculum management techniques, operate academic plans with patience and diligence, develop the teaching and learning methods in accordance with the curriculum, regularly monitor the use of curriculum, and put the curriculum evaluation results in the academic management improvement,   2) in teaching and learning management, It should be taught with passion, the classroom atmosphere should be arranged in supporting the teaching and learning process,  teachers should be supported in local knowledge and wisdom and academic activities, 3) in teaching and learning media, the teachers who are satisfied with and love in instructional media should be assigned to have training courses in the field and take care of instrument in good condition. The budget should be provided in producing educational innovations with measurement in checking and evaluating, and  4) in measurement and evaluation, there should be measurement and evaluation on the actual situations and conditions,  meetings for clarification of rules, regulations and criteria of measurement and evaluation, plans for measurement and evaluation of teaching and learning throughout the academic year, measurement tools coving the whole contents of the course objectives, teaching and learning improvement based on the results of the measurement and evaluation, and development of measurement and evaluation system.
