The research objectives were; 1) to study the state of community participation in school administration, 2) to study theories, principles, and methods of community participation in school administration and the Buddhist principles supporting participation, and 3) to propose a guideline of community participation promotion in school administration of Sucharit School in Phachi district of Ayutthaya province. The mixed research methods were used in the study. The data were collected by questionnaires from 322 samples consisting of teachers, school administrators and students’ parents, and by in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation and content analysis. The research results showed that:
1. The state of community participation in school administration of Sucharit School in Phachi district of Ayutthaya province in 5 aspects was at the high level.
2. The results of the study of theories, principles, and methods of community participation in school administration and the Buddhist principles supporting participation indicated that community participation can decentralize educational authority, participate in making decision, help in planning, manage the budget, help in school administration and curriculum management, assist the personnel development and be the creative co-living in society.
3. The guidelines of community participation promotion in school administration of Sucharit School in Phachi district of Ayutthaya province revealed that Sucharit School is suitable to educational institution contexts, uses variety channels of public relations, arranges school committee meetings for school management, keeps the school compound tidy and clean, gives supports to local wisdom and community products, and arranges activities concerning local wisdom with the cooperation of school, community and temple.
