The objectives of research Paper were 1. to study potential of public works management of abbots in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province, 2. to compare the opinions of monks toward potential of public works management of abbots in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province, classified by personal data, and 3. to study the problems, obstacles and suggestions for development of potential of public works management of abbots in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province. The research methodology was the mixed method research, that the quantitative research used the questionnaire as the tool to collect the data in the field study from 238 monks in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province. The statistics were used for the data analysis through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.), t-test, F-test, One-way Analysis of Variance, and the qualitative research had the documentary analysis and interview as the tool to collect the data in the field study from 12 key informants and analyzed the data through the content analysis technique.

             The findings of this research were as following :

             1. Potential of public works management of abbots in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province, Overall was found in high level with average at mean of 4.11, when considering the aspect found that in high level all aspects, Renovation and development aspects were high level at mean of 4.21. Construction and restoration aspect were high level at mean of 4.14. The maintenance and management of religious properties of the temples aspect were high level at mean of 3.98.

             2. The comparison for opinions of monks toward potential of public works management of abbots in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province, classified by personal data found that status, age, years of being monk, general education and Dhamma education were not different. The hypothesis wasn't accepted.

             3. The problems, obstacles and suggestions for development of potential of public works management of abbots in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province, found that, the suggestions for development of potential of public works management of abbots in Hua-Hin district, Prachuapkhirikhan province, as following ; personnel development of temple to have the potentiality, skills, knowledge including having the incentive for work, budgetary management by focusing on transparency for keeping the confidence of Buddhists that had 2 factors, were the budgetary management development systematically and indicator development to budgetary management according to good governance  for more confidence creation, the unique development in local temples and working network creation to more related involvers.
