The objectives of research paper were (1) to study management of the provincial meditation centers in Ratchaburi province, (2) to compare the opinions of monks toward management of the provincial meditation centers in Ratchaburi province, classified by personal data, and (3) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions for development of management of the provincial meditation centers in Ratchaburi province. The research methodology was the mixed method research, that the quantitative research used the questionnaire as the tool to collect the data in the field study from 386 people who practice meditation at meditation practice centers in Ratchaburi province. The statistics were used for the data analysis through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.), t-test, F-test, One-way Analysis of Variance and Least Significant Difference: LSD. The qualitative research had the documentary analysis and interview as the tool to collect the data in the field study from 12 key informants and analyzed the data through the content analysis technique.
The findings of this research were as following:
1. Management of the provincial meditation centers in Ratchaburi province, overall was found in high level with average at mean of 3.83, when considering in each aspect found that in high level all aspect. The place aspect was high level at mean of 3.91. The persona aspect was high level at mean of 3.78, and the management aspect was high level at mean of 3.81.
2. The comparison of monk’s opinions towards management of the provincial meditation centers in Ratchaburi province, classified by personal data, found that sex has the significantly difference at 0.05, the hypothesis was accepted. Those personal statuses were not different.
3. The problems and obstacles for development of management of the provincial meditation centers in Ratchaburi province, as following: the toilets of some provincial meditation centers are not clean, the materials of some provincial meditation centers are in poor condition, Some provincial meditation centers do not focus on youth groups, some provincial meditation centers lack of efficient plans, some provincial meditation centers do not allow the community to participate in the operation. And, the suggestions for development of management of the provincial meditation centers in Ratchaburi province, as following: should pay more attention to cleanliness especially inside and outside of toilet area, should coordinate with government agencies for supporting in the financial support of supplies and equipment, should encourage the Buddhist monks who training people to be approved by the government, training the activities should focus on youths and students are the primary focus, should prepare annual plan and disseminate to the public, and should encourage the public participation in the planning and implementation process.
