The objectives of this rescarch were 1) to study the roles of monks  for  community development in Kaeng-Krachan District, Petchaburi Province, 2) To compare the roles of monks  towards  community development in Kaeng-Krachan District, Petchaburi Province, 3) To study the problems. obstacles and suggestions for the roles of monks  for  community development in Kaeng-Krachan District, Petchaburi Province. The sampling group was   total of 32,887 people by Cluster Sampling. The 396 samples were used as questionnaireห. and interview as a tool to collection. data.  The data analysis were frequency, percent, mean, standard deviation (SD). The hypothesis was tested by t-test for two variables. One-way ANOVA is used for three or more variables. When differences are found, multiple comparisons are Least Significant Difference (LSD).

  The findings of this research  were as follows :

1. The roles of monks  for  community development in Kaeng-Krachan District, Petchaburi Province in overall, was at a high level with an average at 3.96 when considered in each aspect found Public health society aspect, career aspect, culture aspect, environment aspect, and health aspect, were at high level.

2. The findings of public opinion analysis on the roles of monks for Community development in Kaeng-Krachan District, Petchaburi Province classified by personal factors such as sex, education level and career were not  different, and in term of age, respondents commented on the roles of monks for community development in Kaeng-Krachan District, Petchaburi Province about the career aspect, environment and the public health were statistically significant differences at the 0.05 . But the roles in the society aspect, culture aspect, the people had the opinions indifferently.

3. The problems, obstacles and suggestions to the roles of monks for Community development in Kaeng-Krachan District, Petchaburi Province such as the society aspect found that, should be a training program on moral ethics, as continuous learning center within the temple or other places  and to have the public relations activities for the people. For the career aspect found that, should learn about the sufficiency economy and establish the community organizations such as foundations, funds, centers, etc. to support the original career groups as strengths in that area. The culture aspect, should have the promotion to understand the importance of culture, important day of Buddhism and importance of monks in promoting the culture of the community. The environment aspect found that, should cultivate the values ​​and consciousness in the environment conservation of the community and preserve the local wisdom in the natural resource usage.  For the public health aspect, should have the knowledge and understanding promotion about the public health works to the monks and people about the knowledge of sanitary affair.
