Abstract

The purposes of this thesis were; 1) to study the principles of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness in the Scriptures of Theravada Buddhism  2) to study the present states and problems in Dhamma practice of the community in Nonsawang Sub-District, Maung District, Buengkarn Province and 3) to apply the Four Foundations of Mindfulness in Dhamma practice of the Community in Nonsawang Sub-District, Buengkarn province as follows:

The principles of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness exist in the scripture of Theravada Buddhism by aiming at studying the principles of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness in the meaning of the Threefold Trainings in Tipitaka and the general academics. The word Foundations of mindfulnessmeans the stable mindfulness and earnest of recollection. To have a Right Mindfulness is beyond the attention but it results from the mental state and then realizes of its own-self. The word “Mindfulness” means the intuition, that is, the mental state, while the word “Patthana” means the stable setting, certainty, attention, importance of the Four  Foundations of Mindfulness in Theravada Buddhism, occurrence, importance, features, advantage and benefits of Foundations of Mindfulness.

 

The problems of community are not only the aspect of social living, family. Economy, incomes, and the life styles, occupation, but also they cannot make people in community practice Dhamma, moreover, it makes people turn back to pay attention to practice Dhamma increasingly. When people practice Dhamma contuously, they will receive the profits of Dhamma practice, that is, to have self-discipline, to be self-awareness, to control themselves, and to believe in the seniority if they are the children, they will not argue the seniority, to have self-seniority. If they are the children, they will not argue the seniority, to have good habits, namely, to be diligent, tot to be lazy, to love to work, to be thrifty, to know how to live and occupation, to be unity, to love family and company and the nation to have good habits, respects, industry and to practice the regulations, to know the state of children and seniority, to set themselves it the suitable way in order to develop the qualification of life, to have the knowledge and ethics, that is, to know how to think and improve  themselves, to know to solve the problems and to have the skill in working and to have good social value in the future. The bosses as the saying that the seniority pulls, the youths support. People in the equal state will patronize forever.

The results of research were found that the relationship of the principles of the Foundations of Mindfulness in practicing Dhamma of people in the community of Nonsawang Sub-district in Dhamma practice in accordance with the Four Foundations of Mindfulness in the daily life including the application of the Four Poundations of Mindfulness in Dhamma practice of people in community, who practice Dhamma that separates the material forms and abstract that occur, that is, the mind seeing the body, feeling or mind seeing the body or abstract mean to have the mindfulness to realize of the reality including the contemplation of seeing the reality in the body, feeling, mind or Dhamma that are the practical principles in the Pour Foundations of Mindfulness and result in good products to the community, that is, to the aspect of the physical well-being of the community, the state of society of the community, the mental health of community, the way of life of community and the relationship of the community and the temples. It makes the society in good condition and results it the products in doing work including the physical health and mentality completely.
