The Volunteer Dhammaduta Role in Social Development in the Southern Border Provinces

Abstract

The objectives of this research were as follows : 1) to study the volunteer dhammaduta role in social development in southern border provinces, 2 ) to compare the volunteer dhammaduta role in social development in southern border provinces in terms of periods of monkhood, ages, dhamma education levels, general study levels and placers of birth as differently and, 3 ) to study the suggestion on problem and resolution on the volunteer dhammaduta role in social development in southern border provinces. This is a quantitative research with studying of all dhammaduta role in social development in southern border provinces (satoon, songkhla, pattani, yala and narathivas) for 133 persons. The instrument for data collection was questionnaire both closed and open and questions. The statistics were analysed as follows; frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and one way ANOVA. The findings were as follows:

1) The volunteer dhammaduta role in social development in southern border provinces by overview was at more level for all aspects, from more to less as follows,- buddhaputtra project domain, and followed up visit monk and neet follower domain, motivative making to victims domain and religious relation domain respeehiely.

2) The comparative result on the volunteer of dhammaduta role in social development in southern border provinces found that in terms of periods of monkhood, ages, dhamma study levels, general study levels and places of birth there were different as statistically significance at .05.

3) The suggestion on the volunteer of dhammaduta in social development in southern border provinces. The problem found there should visit monksand his followers were mot coverage both Thai buddhists and muslims there was the highest. Frequency. The resolution found that there should visit monks and his followers in coverage both Thai buddhists and muslims for peacefulness and good understanding each other; there was the highest frequency.
