The thesis entitled “Development of learning achievement using active learning on the civic duties for 2nd secondary school students at Wat Salameechai Municipal school, Mueang district, Na Khon Sithammarat province” was an experimental research with two objectives. The study aimed: 1) to create the active learning management on the subject of social studies, religion and cultures, and civic duties for 2nd secondary school students at Wat Salameechai Municipal school, Mueang district, Na Khon Sithammarat province and 2) to compare the learning achievement of before and after the active learning of 2nd secondary school students at Wat Salameechai Municipal school. A sample was a purposive sampling and selected from 52 students of 2nd secondary school of Wat Salameechai Municipal school. The research instruments were 1) the active learning on civic duties, learning unit 2 lesson on “our community” in total of 3 learning management plans and 2) learning achievement test of 30 questions.
The results of the study were as follows :
1) The results of an active learning on civic duties for 2nd secondary school students at Wat Salameechai Municipal school, Mueang district, Na Khon Sithammarat province were effective and could see the effects clearly because the active learning emphasized on having the students to arrange their own learning according to their skills by themselves. This helped students able to bring out their skills to accomplish in their assignments, able to form their opinions and propose to teachers and classmates. If students paid attention and cooperated, this would lead to the development in learning management and students could gain more direct knowledges and experiences from studying.
2) From comparing the learning achievement of before and after the active learning on the civic duties for 2nd secondary school students at Wat Salameechai Municipal school, learning unit 2 lesson on “good people of the community” in total of 3 learning management plans, it was found that before the learning, the average was at () = 15.20 and the standard deviation (S.D.) was at 2.725 while after the learning, the average was at () = 24.44 and the standard deviation (S.D.) was at 2.893. The learning achievement of students after the learning was higher at .05 level of significance.
The total research results found that learning management which makes learners have roles to find knowledge interactively with friends makes learners understand well and able to apply, analysis, synthesis, evaluate or create things and develop oneself with all one's ability including having experiences in learning and having chances to comment together. Learners learned simulated situation concerning taking action; it made good learning and affected effective learning results.
