This research has studied a self-awareness reinforcing model for the prevention of risky behavior to suicide of adolescents by Buddhist peaceful means. This study aims to achieve three objectives as follows: (1) to study the problem situation of self-awareness that involves risky behavior contributing to the suicide of adolescents; (2) to study the self-awareness reinforcing model in order to prevent risky behavior contributing to suicide of adolescent [Modern Sciences and Theravāda Buddhism]; (3) to present the self-awareness reinforcing model in order to prevent the risky behavior to suicide of adolescents by Buddhist peaceful means.
This study found that the behavior of the suicide of adolescents occurred from both internal factors and external factors. Internal factors, namely thought and attitude, have an effect on mind to be individual. External factors, namely, family, school, university, society and environmental ones. Thus, one educated about science of Eastern by Theravāda Buddhism to use 3 doctrines to encourage, the other educated about science of Western by self-awareness reinforcing to adolescents.
The finding of this research was Buddhist peaceful means namely, to bring the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, the Four Noble Truths, The Five Power to be doctrine of the Buddha that was Buddhism of Eastern and self-awareness of Western to apply together, became the activities relationship group which composed with principle method process and step by basing on mindfulness. To become wisdom and as the Five Power had done working that had effected to characteristic of each students to change clearly such as it had mindfulness more, self-confident, dare to do something, decision making more.
The concluding of this research was this activities of relationship group to be the model that is namely (1) self-mindfulness (2) self-control (3) bring to wisdom (4) Buddhism way to happiness. This activities of relationship group was created in order to experiment with 25 students. By using the qualitative method with experimental process as training. There were depth-interview, test and questionnaire. It was shown by result of self-awareness opinion with post-test more than pre-test.
Finally, the outcome of this research to be; when the adolescents passed these processes and steps; they would have self-awareness increasingly and have effected to suicide decreasingly.
