Objectives of this research were to 1. Study level of effectiveness of environment management of Moosi subdistrict, Pak Chong district,Nakhonratchasima Province, 2. Compare the people’s opinions toward the effectiveness of environment management of Moosi Sub-district, Pak Chong district, Nakhonratchasima Province, and 3. Study the problems, obstacles and recommendations for the effectiveness of environment management of Moosi Sub-District, Pak Chong District, Nakhonratchasima Province.
Methodology was the mixed methods. The qualitative and quantitative research. For quantitative research, the data were collected from 388 samples who were people in that area. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, T-test, and F-test and one-way ANOVA. Pairs of variables were compared by Least Significant Difference, LSD. For qualitative research, the method, Data were collected from 12 key informants by face-to-face- in-depth-interviewing and analyzed by descriptive interpretation.
Findings of the research were as follows:
1. Level of effectiveness of environmental management of Moosi Sub-District, Pak Chong District, Nakhonratchasima Province by over all were at medium levels ( = 3.45, S.D. = 0.716). The effectiveness of each aspect were that the responsible organization was at high level. ( = 3.52, S.D. = 0.792). determined policy was at medium level at = 3.47, S.D. = 0.813), plan was at = 3.41, S.D. = 0.820, management of project was at =3.48, S.D. = 0.804, and evaluation of the project was at = 3.39, S.D. = 0.871 respectively.
2. The result of comparing the opinion of individual people toward the effectiveness of environmental management of Moosi Sub-District, Pak Chong District, Nakhonratchasima Province was found that people with different occupation and salary had different opinion about the effectiveness of the environment management at 0.05 statistical significant level, accepting the set hypothesis. Those people with different gender, age, and educational degree did not have different opinions, rejecting the set hypothesis.
3. The problems and obstacles of environmental management of Moosi Sub-District, Pak Chong District, Nakhonratchasima Province were found that 1) for the aspect of responsible organization, the persons who were responsible for the task were limited. As working part, there were not enough equipment and one person had many duties causing slow performance 2) For the aspect of determined policy, some local people and tourists did not pay attention to government policy. promoting in order to let people participate in determining policy was also lacking. 3) For the aspect of planning, people did not receive any news and the local government was not promoting the plan. For that reasons they did not know any real problems of people in that area. 4) For the aspect of project management, the responsible persons and equipment were not enough so that the persons carried out many duties and could not take care of all the works. 5) For the aspect of evaluation, the committee still lack of knowledge and understanding of the evaluation. There was no report to people in that area.
The recommendations for environmental management of Moosi Sub-District, Pak Chong District, Nakhonratchasima Province are as follows: 1) for the aspect of responsible organization, there should be more recruitment for responsible people for the work, more equipment should be also provided, 2) For the aspect of determined policy, there should do the public hearing in community so that they can determine the actual policy and also follow up the feedback. 3) For the aspect of planning, people should participate in the area and give the true information to staff. They should hold regular meeting to educate and create the connection for preserving environment so that local people can create their own plans. 4) For the aspect of project management, there should have enough equipment for this project. 5) For the aspect of evaluation, they should nominate the committee who directly have knowledge and understanding of evaluation of environmental management and also the results of the effectiveness of environment management should be reported to the local peoples through internet or website.
