The objectives of this thesis are : 1) to study the quality of living for retirees in the current socio-cultural context; 2) to study the Buddhadhamma appropriated for retirees; and 3) to analyze the principles of Buddhist Integration for retirees and present how to achieve quality of life. This research was the qualitative research using documentary data, the in-depth interview to collect information from 10 key informants and the questionnaires from 102 selected retirees. The results were as follows :
1)The changing of current social context has effected on the retirees in many aspects such as: (1) Thai society is entering to the aged society, (2) the transition from agricultural society to industrial society, (3) the influence of media and technology, (4) the switch from extended family to single family and (5) the Thai’s attitude towards retirees in either the positive or the negative side.
2) The Buddhadhammas those are appropriated for the retiree’s quality living are : the Five Precepts, the Contentment, the Four Noble Truths, the four Sublime States of Mind, the eight Worldly Conditions, and The Three Characteristic.
3) Having integrated these Buddhadhammas into the retirees, the results revealed that the retirees have integrated the Buddhadhammas into living life at the high level in all aspects. Especially the integration of 10 bases of meritorious actions is practiced in their daily lives. Their goals to achieve are the current benefits in the most highly Level. On the guide line to live the quality life of the retirees, is the “Do not LEAVE model”. That is when having retired, the retirees should not abandon 5 things. Here they are 1) L- as Let oneself on, 2) E- as Excellent health, 3) A- as Activities, 4) V- as Virtue, and 5) E- as Economical life.
