An Application of the Four Paths of Accomplishment in the Learning and Teaching Management of the students in the Primary School in the 5 th Grade of Bantoom School, Banchan Sub-District, Bandung District, Udonthani Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research were; 1) to study the principle of the Four Paths of Accomplishment in the Buddhist Text, 2) to study the application of the principle of the Four Paths of Accomplishment for the learning management of the students in the 5th grade of the primary school in Ban Toom, Ban Chan sub-district, Ban Dung District, Udonthani Province and 3) to study the results of the application of the principle of the Four Paths of Accomplishment in the learning management of the students in the 5th grade of the primary school in Ban Toom School, Ban Chan sub-district, Ban Dung District, Udonthani Proivince. This research was the qualitative research by analyzing the data from Tipitaka, Buddhist academic documents, related researches and the interviews and the results of research were propounded by the descriptive analysis.

The results of research were found that the Four Paths of Accomplishment mean the principle of Dhamma leading to the accomplishment, that is, Canda: aspiration, work satisfaction, Viriya: effort, energy, endurance towards the troublesomeness, whether it will be any vocation or not. It will be done with honesty, Citta: active thought with love, effort, energy, indicative thoughtfulness in those vocations for accomplishment, Vimamsa: investigation in work performance in order to receive more an accomplishment.

The process of application of the Four Paths of Accomplishment in the learning process in the group activities will assist to solve the specification of moral contents that is likely the abstract and the motionless to be the interesting learning by creating the learning atmosphere that consists of the learners’ movements all together. The learning and teaching management focus on the learners’ participation both physically and intelligently and the major relationship by using some activities and teaching instruments such as imitative situations, assumed demonstration and case study etc. To enhance the moral learning should be the interesting concrete objects agreeable to the age of self-development in the level of maturity and the learners’ requirements in the level of the Four Paths of Accomplishment by self-control, personal-control and job-control. All these are the virtue leading the successfulness of the required results.

The applicative results of the Four Paths of Accomplishment for increasing the skill and learning management of the students in the 5th grade class of primary school in Ban Toom school, Ban Chan Sub-district, Ban Dung District, Udon Thani Province were found that 1) Chanda: the enemy of bore and not to be tired of working and not be discouraged to protect oneself 2) Viriya: to get rid of the laziness to work continuously such as the learners do their homework as assigned by the teachers completely and not to be lazy to do their work 3) Citta: to know the work movement continuously, when there is intellectual that can solve the immediate situations and 4) Vimamsa: to encourage to work not to be faulty and to assist to see the direction to achieve ones’ work. It can be found that Chanda and Viriya are the practical principles to assist the students to get rid of the problems and obstacles in order to encourage everybody to participate both opinion and performance in the limited situations and to encourage the members in group to lay out the plans to work together , to change the experience and to solve the problems together for creating the learning and to apply for learning effectively.
