The purposes of the research entitled “An approach for enhancing the Buddhist Cultural Tourism of Wat Thatthong, Viantian, Lao People’s democracy republic) were: 1) to study the background of the Buddhist cultural tourism 2) to study the present situation and the problems of the Buddhist cultural tourism of Wat Thatluong, Viantian, Lao people’s democratic republic and to study an approach for enhancing the Buddhist cultural tourism of Wat Thatloung, Viantian, Lao people’s democratic republic and to study the approach for the learning sources 0f Wat that is the source of tourism and to study the learning sources of Wat that is the source of tourism and study the opinions of Sangha and the tourists towards development of tourism.

To study the background of the Buddhist cultural tourism was; 1) in the aspect of Buddhist arts of architectural institution suitable for learning sources in the previous Wat as the center of the arts and science that are surrounded by the folks with Wat or from distant places coming to study various academic matters and to receive the teaching and the mental training taught by the Buddhist monks. But the present, the society changes when the education of the country has been developed and the education is separated from Wat by establishing itself independently and the teachers are not the Buddhist monks. So the Lao children in the present are not closed with Wat 2) in the aspect of convenience in tourism in Wat, there have been facilities such as transportation, the service centers for tourists, closets, parking lots, coffee places and soft drinks including the foods for services. The tourists who are the factors motivate to invite the tourists coming to visit. The tourism at Wat Phrathat Loung in the present has been developed gradually and causing the good results for tourism. 3) the aspect of the learning sources concerning the benefits, Wat in Buddhism plays an important role for Thai nation as the sources for studying Dhamma by having the Buddhist monks to be the mental refuge in the time of suffering and to be the sources of the cultural tourism for the tourist foreigners. Now that Wat still has importance for Thais as the mental refuge and for the foreigners as the sources of the cultural tourism as mentioned, So Wat should be taken care of in order to preserve cleanliness and to protect the evil persons who live in Wat and cause the trouble for persons who come to search for peace.

The present situations and the problems for the Buddhist cultural tourism at Wat Phrathat Loung Viantian, Lao People’s Democratic Republic are that to study the data of Wat Phrathat Loung, Viantian, Lao country make us to understand the historical change for each period of time and it is considered as to create the system of the cultural tourism of the nation as well and people in the nation will study in order to understand the cooperation of the different groups of people of the nation in those periods of time in order to create the unity of the nation for peace and happiness for a long time. The Kings’ belief and faith in the former time will be the model for ruling in various aspects of creation of unity of people in the country. The beliefs of a lot of people in Buddhism create the good model of culture and to be preserved for a long time until coming to the model of the cultural tourism in the present.

An approach for enhancing the Buddhist cultural tourism of Wat Phrathat Loung Viantian, Lao People’s Democratic Republic requires the systems of the requirements of the tourists whom come to visit Wat Phrathat Loung Viantian as important construction to worship or the warning things in order to remember the religion. It means the places or the worshiping things related to the Buddha or Buddhism that is called Sammasambudha Pagoda or Buddha Pagoda but Wat Phrathat Loung, Viantian, beside to construct to remember the Buddha, still to remember to create the unity of people in the country also and to be the center of tourist sources of the tourists. The other tourist sources should be created as the important places in the country or to be worshiping places for 12 fortune months etc.
