The objectives of this research are:- 1) to study the Loving-Kindness in Theravāda Buddhism, 2) to study the practice of Metta in Buddhism, 3) to analyze the practice of Metta of Buddhasāvikā in Theravāda Buddhism.
The study is a documentary research. The conceptual framework of the analysis in the practicing Loving-Kindness of Buddhasāvikā has 3 persons, Mahāpajāpatã Gotamã, Sāmāvatã and Uttara. By collecting the information and biography of the Buddhas of the past and present in the method of practice, work, success and accomplishment of 3 Buddhasāvikā is gathered and analyzed.
From the study, it is found that Metta or universal love in Theravāda Buddhism is love without any scope, boundary and passion but it is pure inexhaustible love. The description of Metta is love, goodwill, good intention and desire other to be happy and success in benefit of life. It is the pure love to all beings for the base of one's world mate or transmigration friend. It is the middle of love to spread out and it is high morality, who has this Metta or the true love, one can get real happy because there also can make other happy.
The practice of Metta in Buddhism of 3 Buddhasāvikā is difference in many ways even ancestor and birth place. The social environment is a compound for Buddhasāvikā to find with every event in their life. It is the cause to affect their mind to create the different principle of nature in practice of Metta. They always practice morality in daily life, especially; Metta is the main principle in practice and develop their mind in lifestyle.
The practice of Metta of Buddhasāvikā is develop the mind in progress of life and first practice Metta in a stable in activities of body, speech and mind basically, by always develop the practice of Metta that is the condition to develop the mind and it is the case to solve the problem of life.
