This research is to study self-reliance model through community enterprise: a case study of Banchampathong Banana Product Processing, Phoprajak Subdistrict, Thachang District, Singburi Province. There are three main objectives: i) to study management of community enterprise of Banchampathong Banana Product Processing, Phoprajak Subdistrict, Thachang District, Singburi Province, ii) to study self-reliance process of community enterprise of Banchampathong Banana Product Processing, Phoprajak Subdistrict, Thachang District, Singburi Province, and iii) to present sustainable local self-reliance model of community enterprise of Banchampathong Banana Product Processing, Phoprajak Subdistrict, Thachang District, Singburi Province. The qualitative research was carried out in this study. In-depth interview of 20 key informants including president, 8 members, local scholar,            5 customers, 5 representatives of related agencies, was employed for data collection. The content analysis technique was used for data analysis.

             The findings of this study were concluded as follows:

             1.Banchampathong community economy exists and depends upon the ways of life of villagers like agriculture is the main source of their income resulting the rise of self-reliant community economy. Banchampathong community experienced over-produced banana and low prices, they decided to set up club to banana processing by applying local wisdom in order to add value of their products. The establishment of community enterprise of Banchampathong Banana Product Processing is the co-working spirit between its leader and members by entrusted roles and duties to work hard for the sake of their community’s benefits. This enterprise is welcome all agencies concerned both public and private to participate in support and help. At the present, the banana products have been certified as the best OTOP (One Tambon One Product) of Thachang District and was registered as the product of community enterprise.

             2.The process of self-reliance of community enterprise of Banchampathong Banana Product Processing consisted of 5 aspects: i) for economic self-reliance, it was observed that investment and expenditure of the group has to conform to the principles of “spend less invest moderately”. Its policy is to economizing and savings and adjusting in community economy context. Group and community depend upon each other. Ii) For social self-reliance, it was revealed that every one in the community is dependent to each other. They help each other and live together in harmonious atmosphere. It is regarded as outstanding self-reliant community and as learning source of other communities. Iii) Regarding to resource self-reliance, it was depicted that there are qualified and efficient community enterprise committee, spirit of harmony and team working like members of same family was praised in this group. Raw banana in community is considered as the save cost of this enterprise. In addition, local wisdom as the community heritage was used and applied in producing process. These bring about the circulation of income within community. Iv) For technological self-reliance, it was observed that there was suitable usage of technology and local wisdom in an appropriate manner and there brought technology for communication in order to develop the community enterprise management for its best performance and efficiency. v) For spiritual self-reliance, it was indicated that firstly, its president is diligent and works hard, able to lead the group, have vision and skills in planning and systematic working and finally he has been entrusted by committee and members of the group. Secondly, it was emphasis more on working transparency. This brings about the trustworthiness among members and leads to sustainable function of the group.

             3.In summary, the 5 aspects of self-reliance process  of community enterprise of Banchampathong Banana Product Processing, integrated with Dhamma and sufficiency economy principles revealed that: i) economic self-reliance integrated with sufficiency economy principle, ii) social self-reliance integrated with loving-kindness (Metta), iii) natural resource self-reliance integrated with wisdom, iv) technological self-reliance integrated with wisdom, and v) spiritual self-reliance integrated with good governance and right effort (Viriya).
