The main objectives of this are: i) to study the public participation in water management of Ban Saladin, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province; ii) to study the factors affecting the people's participation in water management of the community Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province, and iii) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions in public participation in water management of Ban Saladin, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province. Mixed methodology research was carried out in this study. 322 people in Ban Saladin, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom province, were drawn as sample group. The data were collected through questionnaire. The statistical techniques used for data analysis were Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation (F - test) and One Way ANOVA). The quantitative data gathered from In-depth Interview with key Informants were analyzed by content analysis technique.
The findings of the study were concluded as follows:
1. The overall public participation in water management of Ban Saladin, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province was found at the high level with the mean score equal to 3.70. Having considered in each dimension, decision making, operation, benefit and the evaluation all were noticed at the high level. The factors affecting public participation in water management of Saladin community, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province were noted at the high level with the mean score = 4.16. For each aspect, it was found that conservation zone, waste prevention – wastewater, water quality inspection and creating volunteer all were noticed at the high level.
2. For the comparative analysis of factors of public participation in water management of Ban Saladin, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province, namely, sex, education, occupation , income duration time living in the village were found no significant differences on public participation in water management of Ban Saladin, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province.
3. For the problems, obstacles and ways of public participation in water management of the community, Mahasawat Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province, it revealed that the People in the community rarely cooperate in organizing activities in the community. The impact on people in the area, they cannot grow the rice and garden and way of people's participation in public relations management have many ways such as social radio make the group have the president of group and meeting, suggest people to garbage collection in the river, etc. In order to create a feeling of maintaining in river and quality in water can be fully exploited and the community will cooperate automatically.
