Development of Innovation for Prototype Youth Enhancement In Accordance with Educational Reform Policy for Secondary School Students (Buddhist Educational Administration)

Abstract

The objectives of this research were; 1) to study the condition of enhancing the prototype youth characteristics in accordance with the educational reform policy, 2) to study the innovation to enhance the prototype youth characteristics in accordance with the educational reform policy, and 3) to propose innovations to strengthen the prototype youth according to the educational reform policy for high school students. The mixed research methodology was used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaires from 374 samples and analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation. The qualitative data were obtained by in-depth interviews with 10 experts and by focus group discussions with 10 experts. 

The results of the research found that:

The opinion towards condition of enhancing the prototype youth characteristics in accordance with the educational reform policy was at a high level overall. The highest level started at Mindfulness and Tolerance, followed by Morality and Ethics, Physical and Mental readiness, and Knowledge and Intelligence.

The innovation of prototype youth characteristics in accordance with the educational reform policy in the course subjects found that; in social studies courses, the activities to encourage student-centered learning consisted of flag raising activity, national anthem singing, using Thai language correctly, appropriate speaking, dressing, using appliances, living in Thainess, country love, having morality, having physical and mental readiness, being good, intellectual and creative. In Science course, STEM education, case-study, survey, and brainstorm could make the youths have knowledge, wit, intelligence, and consciousness, perseverance, tolerance, and new ideas. In Sufficiency Economy Course, the sufficiency economy integrated with STEM activities, discussing and reviewing knowledge on sufficiency economy philosophy, having community scholars demonstrate practices to students, and students started doing by themselves could make them have a commitment to success and create economic values.

CIACE MODEL was the innovation proposed to create prototype youth characteristics in accordance with the educational reform policy for secondary school students in loving country, having morality, having physical and mental readiness, being good and intellectual, and having volunteer spirit.   Student-centered learning, STEM education integrated with Sufficiency Economy, demonstration and practice by local scholars, and students practiced by themselves could make them learn, experience, be conscious, mindful, patient, and have new ideas.
