This research aimed to study the state of students’ characteristics based on the 10 Wholesome principles in primary schools in Mueang district of Nonthaburi province and to propose a guideline of students’ characteristics development based on the 10 Wholesome principles in primary schools in Mueang district of Nonthaburi province. The data of this mixed method research were collected from 175 samples in 3 schools and from in-depth interview with 6 teachers.
The results of the study found that:
1. The state of students’ characteristics based on the 10 Wholesome principles in primary schools in Mueang district of Nonthaburi province in 8 aspects was at a high level totally. The highest level was on adoring the nation, religion and monarch, followed by being learning oriented, being disciplined, observing Thainess, work commitment, sincerity, honesty, and being public minded respectively.
2. A guideline of students’ characteristics based on the 10 Wholesome principles in primary schools in Mueang district of Nonthaburi province was as follows; In adoring the nation, religion and monarch, students should be assigned at participate in activities concerning nation, religion and monarch regularly, In sincerity and honesty, lesson exercise and homework could help, In being disciplined, walking in line to and from class should be practiced, In being learning oriented, students should be participated in exhibitions and demonstrations, In sufficiency living, students should be taught to grow vegetables and to spend economically, In being work oriented or work commitment, students should be rewarded with good intention in work and study, In observing Thainess, wearing Thai costume or Thai clothes should be set for once a week, and in being public minded, teachers should encourage students to do voluntary work and give help to their friends.
