Abstract

The aims of this mixed method research were: 1) to study the conditions of administration of Phrapariyattidhamma schools under the Office of Buddhism in Chaiyaphum province in the 21st century; 2) to study the ways to promote and develop the administration of Phrapariyattdhamma schools under the Office of Buddhism in Chaiyaphum province in the 21st century. The samples used in the quantitative research were 100 of educational administrators and teachers, selected by simple random based on the method of Krejcie & Morgan. The target group included 12 of the samples selected by purposive sampling. The tools used in this study were a questionnaire with its reliability value of .97 and the structured interview. The statistics used in data analysis were: Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test and f-test (One Way ANOVA) while the obtained qualitative data were interpreted through the descriptive analysis.

The research results were as follows:

1) The mean scores of samples’ opinions on the conditions of administration of Phrapariyattidhamma schools under the Office of Buddhism in Chaiyaphum province in the 21st century were at a high level. The highest can be seen in the aspect ‘academic administration’, followed by ‘general affairs administration’, ‘personnel administration’ and ‘financial administration’ respectively.

2) The ways to promote and develop the administration of Phrapariyattidhamma schools under the Office of Buddhism in Chaiyaphum province in the 21st century are that the school curriculum should be up-to-date to meet the needs of learners; the teaching and learning by using technology media should be consistent with global changes by using modern computer innovations to develop effective evaluation systems, to promote community learning resources and communication technology systems to update information by using modern communication technology for appropriate guidance, cost-effectiveness and highest benefits.
