General Section Phrapariyatti Dhamma School Administration Based on the Four Noble Truths under Office of Buddhism Khon Kaen Province (Buddhist Educational Administration)

Abstract

The aims of this research were: 1) to study the administrative condition of Phrapariyatti Dhamma School; 2) to study the guidelines of the school administration. This study employed the mixed methods research to collect the data from the administrators and teachers in 11 Phrapariyatti Dhamma Schools. The examples of the quantitative research conducted through the survey research were 88 of the administrators and teachers. For the qualitative one, the in-depth interview was used to collect the data from 10 of administrators and teachers.
The research results were as follows:
1) A study of the state of administration of the Phrapariyatti Dhamma Schools (General Section) according to the Four Noble Truths under Khon Kaen National Office of Buddhism showed that the overall management was rated at a high level in order of importance. In terms of the general administration, it is found that the administrative work was not organized and not systematic; student support is also discriminatory, environment should be clean, comfortable and neat; there is a lack of knowledge about the curriculum or there is no clear course; teachers lack the skills and experience in teaching activities; teachers are not enough compared with their teaching load; the curriculum should be revised and developed as appropriate in each subject. The teachers should be encouraged to make learning plans; the emphasis on learners should be made. In terms of budget management, it was found that accounting was not present; budget is not worth it, not maximize and has low efficiency. Most of the people are honest, well-behaved, religious and legal. There is an internal audit system taken in change by an agency responsible for internal audit. In respect with the personnel management, it was found that many personnel have many responsibilities, are lack of knowledgeable and attentive personnel, there is a lack of staff development. The selection of educational personnel emphasizes on friendship rather than knowledgeable persons.
2) A study of the administrational guideline of the Phrapariyatti Dhamma Schools (General Section) according to the Four Noble Truths under Khon Kaen National Office of Buddhism showed that from the questionnaire, it was found that in regards to the general administration, the environment is not orderly, the student support is also discriminatory; in regards to the academic administration, educational personnel lack knowledge about the curriculum, there is no clear course. School administrators and teachers lacked the skills and experience in teaching activities. The style of teaching is still the same. Budgeting is not worth. The performance is under the criteria of Ministry of Education. The management of personnel, there is a lack of knowledgeable and attentive personnel, staff development, and personnel recruitment depended on friendship rather than knowledge.
