The purpose of this thesis were : 1) A Study of the Gratitude in Theravada Buddhism. 2) A Study of the Conservation of Environment toward Present in Societies. And 3) An Analytical Study of the Gratitude for the Conservation of Environment in Theravada Buddhism. The researcher conducted a qualitative study based the contents on the Theavada Tiptaka, Commentaies, Sub-Commentaries, and relevant documents. Then, the researcher analyzed and concluded in order to gather and obtain the outcomes.
Form the research, it is found as follows :
Gratitude means knowing and acknowledging certain acts that a person has done to other person, to public as well as to institution, animals and surrounded nature and such acts include those of direct and indirect nature. In addition, it includes the attempt to do something in return to pay back, support, give praise, maintain in good condition for the benefits of the social happiness and natural and environmental balance.
The gratitude towards the conservation of nature and environment refers to the wealth naturally or already occurred. Nature means things that are happened and being as the normal way of particular things according to the locations. While environment defines as things both natural and social surround human beings both good and bad. According to the basis of natural resources.
It can be seen that gratitude towards the conservation of nature and environment is that human beings need to realize the value of nature and environment. Since that these are the sources which provide benefits and advantages both directly and indirectly.
