This thematic paper contains two objectives : 1) To study the political communication and 2) An analytically study the Buddhist ethics and the political communication. The study is a documentary research which the researcher has studied from Tipitaka, the documents, the textbooks, the electronic documents, the books and other writings related to the principles of pilgrimage practices.
From the research, it is found that :-
The principle of communication is the transferring of the message and the political news or the exchange of information directly pertaining to politics between the members in the political system i.e between the individuals; the group of the individuals, the government and other political institutions such as the parliament, the political parties, the stake holder groups and the common people, between politicians and other political institutions. The principle of political communication in a crisis period is to provide the information for the political parties or the other stakeholders to gain the trust with the methods full of compassion and loving kindness. This is to “bridge” the in volved persons or to provide the solution to the conflict between the controversial parties. The communication must not be based on the personal benefits over others’ benefits. The personal benefits will lead one to have a conflict between the recipients in the societies.
Regarding the Buddhist ethics, according to the Buddha’s teachings on communication process, the principles of sending message, listening, selective belie, analyzing the persons are the fundamental cores that create the effective communication. This also covers the code of conduct and the ethics of communication. If the Thai society follows the Buddhist ethical ways of communication in political communication, this will enable the happiness to arise people at the levels of individuality, families, communities, nations as well as at the universal level. As a result, the world’s societies will live truly happily and peacefully without the bias, the separation, and the conflict.
