This thesis contains three objectives; to study the Cetasika from Theravāda Buddhist Scriptures, to study the Insight Meditation Practice in the Theravāda Buddhist scripture, and to study of the mental factors of hatred in insight meditation practice. Clarified data had been taken from the Theravadā Buddhist scriptures and other related documents, then composed, summarized, analyzed, explained in details, corrected and verified by Buddhist scholars. From the study it found that;
Cetasika refers to the mental factors, mind’s manners or behavior, it is quality of consciousness containing the rise-fall character with consciousness, the objects of mind, yielded with consciousness, it also forms and generates the wholesome and unwholesome mind. There are 52 Cetasikas divided into 3 categories; 1) 13 Cetasikas form both of wholesome and unwholesome consciousness called as Aññasamānācetasika, 2) 14 Cetasikas which form only unwholesome consciousness called as Akusalacetasika and 3) 25 Cetasikas which form only wholesome consciousness called as Sobhaṇacetasika.
