This research was aimed to study the current state of problems in competency development in educational administration of temple abbots, to develop a competency development model in competency development in educational administration of temple abbots, and to evaluate the competency development model in competency development in educational administration of temple abbots. The qualitative data were collected from documents, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with 10 key-informants and then analyzed by content analysis. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaire from 400 sample abbots and analyzed by mean, percentage and standard deviation.
