Abstract
Objectives of this research were: 1. to study Buddhism dissemination of Dhammatuta monks at Phopatubchang District, Pichit Province, 2. to compare peoples’ opinions towards the Buddhism dissemination of Dhammatuta monks at Phopatubchang District, Phichit Province and 3. to study problems, obstacles and proposal for Buddhism dissemination of Dhammatuta monks at Phopatubchang District, Pichit Province.
Methodology was the mixed methods; The quantitative research collected data by survey method from 396 samples derived from populations of 38,433 people using Taro Yamane’s formula with opened and closed end questionnaires that had reliability value at 0.892, analyzed data with descriptive statistics: frequency, percentile, mean and SD, standard deviation, t-test and F-test. The qualitative research collected data from 10 key informants, interviewing with structured in-depth-interviewing scripts and analyzed data by descriptive interpretation.
Findings were as follows:
1. Samples’ pinions towards the Buddhism dissemination of Dhamma
tuta monks at Phopatubchang District, Pichit Province by overall were at high level
( = 4.08) and classified by each aspect; content and methods and preparation were also at high level consecutively.
2. Peoples’ opinion comparison about the Buddhism dissemination
of Dhammatuta monks at Phopatub classified by personal factors finding that people with different sexes did not have different opinions toward Buddhism dissemination
of Dhammatuta monks at Pho[atubchang District, Pichit Province, denying the set hypothesis. People with different age, education levels and occupations had different opinions toward Buddhism dissemination of Dhammatua monks with statistical significant level at 0.05 accepting the set hypothesis.
3. Problems, obstacles of Buddhism dissemination of Dhammatuta monks were that 1) Dhamatuta monks emphasized on lecturing rather than real practiceม
2) Dhammatuta monks made Dhamma line in the communities, 3) Dhammatuta monks lacked skills in using modern media and technology for dissemination and
4) Dhammatuta monks did not give clear assignment of works to those who involved
in the operation. Recommendation: 1) Dhammatuta monks should apply easy
to understand and practical contents for dissemination, 2) Dhammatuta monks should make Dhamma lines in communities, 3) Dhammatuta should have additional training
in technological using in Dhamma dissemination and 4) Dhammatuta monks should
be informed of every Dissemination activity.
