Abstract
The aims of this research were: 1) to study the leadership according to IV Bala (bala, power) of the basic education school administrators under the Khonkaen Primary Educational Service Area Office V; 2) to compare the mean scores of the leadership of the administrators based on the factors: position, school size and working experience; 3) to study the ways to develop and promote the mentioned leadership. This study employed the mixed research methodologies: 1) for the quantitative research, its samples included 329 of educational administrators and teachers under the Khonkaen Primary Educational Service Area Office V; the tools used was a questionnaire with its reliability value of .99 and the statistics used in data analysis were: Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test (Independent Sample), f-test (One-way ANOWA) and Fisher's Least Significant Difference: LSD.; 2) for the qualitative research, the target group included 6 administrators and 6 teachers (total 12), selected by purposive sampling; in this process, an interview form was used to collect the data before content analysis was used to find the conclusion.
The research results were as follows:
1) The mean score of the leadership according to IV Bala of the administrators in overall was at a high level; the highest score can be seen in the aspect of ‘leadership based on power of sympathy and solidarity’, followed by that of ‘leadership based on power of energy or diligence’ and of ‘leadership based on power of faultlessness’ and the least can be seen in that of ‘leadership based on power of wisdom’.
2) Based on the comparison, the statistic scores of the leadership according to IV Bala of the administrators, classified by the samples’ factors: position, school size and work experience in overall were different with the statistical significance level at .05.
3) The ways to promote and develop the leadership according to IV Bala of the administrators were: 1) in the leadership based on ‘power of wisdom’, the administrators should have wide knowledge in educational administration, ability in planning and management to the highest benefits, take the Buddhist teaching and the western theories to develop students; 2) in the leadership based on power of energy or diligence, the administrators should be diligent and patient in managing the educational institutions, use the information technology in administration based on the idea of Thailand 4.0 and use the conditions of the educational assurance of PDCA process as the administrational principles; 3) in the leadership based on power of faultlessness, the administrators should be honest and fair in administration, the financial management should be transparent according to the expense purposes; fairness, harmony, punctuality and responsibility in personnel administration should be developed; 4) in the leadership based on power of sympathy, the administrators should train the personnel in the manners of mental devotion, generosity, kindness, proper speech and compassion.
