An Application of the Dhamma Principle for Supporting The Sufficiency Economy According to The Royal Guidance of His Majesty The King Rama 9

Abstract

Abstract

This thesis had 3 objectives; 1) to study the principles of the Sufficiency Economy according to the Royal Guidance of His Majesty the King Rama 9, 2) to study the Dhamma supporting the sufficient economy and 3) to study The application of principle of Dhammato the sufficient economy according to the Royal Guidance of His Majesty the King Rama 9. It was a documentary research. The collected information taken from the important scriptures of Theravada Buddhism, Tipitaka, commentary and other related texts and researches was summarized, analyzed and compiled in description. It has been finally verified by the experts for check its correctness.

The findings were that the Sufficiency Economy according to The Royal Guidance of His Majesty the King Rama 9 has been formulized for independent living with sufficiency of human basic needs without difficulties. It deals with 3 steps; 1) sufficient living, 2) gathering in group and brain storming for producing, marketing and management and 3) network systemizing and extending of occupation group with diverse products. These works must be based on moderating, reasonable and self-active immunity which can be applied in all levels of work by stating on the middle way of practice and gradual development of life qualities.

The virtues supporting the sufficient economy were Ditthadhammikattha (Present benefits) which consists of; 1) Utthānasampadā or to be endowed with energy and industry; achievement of diligence, 2) Ārakkhasampadā or to be endowed with watchfulness or achievement of protection, 3) Kalyānmittatā or good company; association with good people and 4) Samānattatā or balanced livelihood or living economically in both of income and payments. These virtues encourage the success of sufficient economy in respect of both mental and physical strength.

The application of principle of present benefit to the sufficiency economy according to the Royal Guidance of His Majesty the King Rama 9 found that 1) the diligence would be applied for effective works, 2) watchfulness supports moderating payments and moderate consuming of materials in family, 3) good friends will guide knowledge and encouragements in grouping for sufficient and stable community and 4) balanced livelihood would applied by focusing on happy life on both of mental and physical health grounded by morality, concentration and wisdom aiming at higher achievement of suffering end and difficulties.
