For example, he donated the major Pajayanaken elephant for the Kalingkharaj citizens who came to ask for it. Even though he knew that he would be ousted from the town, he did not sway and still did the alms giving on. Phra Vessantara did the Paramattha Parami which included the making of Sattastaka Mahathan, or the donation of seven things i.e. elephants, horses, royal carriage, lady courtiers, dairy cows, male and female slaves, each of 100 items. Above of all, Phra Vessantara did the ultimate giving of Piyabutra Than, giving son and daughter, were Kanha and Chalee, for the old cunning Jujaka in order to gain the resulted Bhothiyana.
Dhamma principle was seen in the story of Phra Vessantara could be found in people or protagonist who had important role in continuing the story. Phra Vessantara did the Than Parami which mean the sacrifice his personal happiness for the others in common. This was a good model for sacrifice because making a donation to the others was like making friend with them and then received love, respect from them back and being an acclaimed person from the general people. Therefore, this Dhamma principle shall be applied and brought to use in living a daily life by the common people and it will be very useful for them and, most importantly, they will actually live together happily and peacefully in the society.
