A Study of Upãsaka-Dhamma application in the Life of Upãsaka-Upasikã Club Members of Nonthai Disrtict, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study how to apply the Upasaka-Dhamma  in the life of Upasaka-Upasika club members of Nonthai Disrtict Nakhon Ratchasima province and to compare the application of Upãsaka-Dhamma in the life of Upasaka-Upasika club members of Nonthai Disrtict Nakhon Ratchasima province according to the variable of sex and age. Samples consisted of 252 Upasaka-Upasika club members of Nonthai Disrtict Nakhon Ratchasima province. Data collection was a questionnaire. Statistics for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test.

The results of research were found as follows:

1. The overall of Upasaka-Dhamma application in the life of Upasaka-Upasika club members of Nonthai Disrtict Nakhon Ratchasima province was in a high level. The consideration from each side was found that four sides were in a high level, while one side was in the highest level. The order of average in each side starting from a high level to the little level was faith, no searching for Tuksina outside the religion, precepts, the adoption in this religion, distrust of rumors, faith of good deeds, and faith of Kamma respectively.

2. A comparison of applying Upasaka-Dhamma in the life of Upasaka-Upasika club members of Nonthai Disrtict Nakhon Ratchasima province by sex showed that the overall did not show a statistically significant difference at .05 level. Consideration from each side was found that the majority of them did not show a statistically significant difference at .05 level. The religion support showed a statistically significant difference at .05 level. Female Upasaka-Upasika club members applied the Upasaka-Dhamma higher than the male Upasaka-Upasika club members.

3. The overall and each side of comparison of applying the Upasaka-Dhamma in the life of Upasaka-Upasika club members of Nonthai Disrtict Nakhon Ratchasima province were found that the overall of applying Upasaka-Dhamma in daily life did not show a statistically significant difference at .05. Moreover, consideration of each side was found that every side did not show a statistically significant difference at .05 as well.
