ABSTRACT
The objectives of this thesis were (1) to study the strategies in applying the social modeling usage for experienced integral teaching from home, temple and school to develop students’ behavior of Prathomsukka 4-6 Ban Khao School to students according to Buddhist ways, Kosumpisai sub-district, Mahasarakham province, (2) to study the plans in developing the characteristics according to the Buddhist ways at Ban Khao School, (3) to study the principles and suggestion in applying the social modeling integrated with integral teaching from home, temple and school to develop students’ behavior of Ban Khao School students. This study was conducted based on Qualitative Research methodology and that of Field Work Study approach.
The result of the study found that learning through observation was under the Cognitive Processes and Observational Learning (or Modeling). It was the learning about behavior both Prosocial Behavior and Antisocial Behavior. The learning resource might be material object (parents, teachers, and friends) and conceptual objects (Medias, books, and cartoon). Observational Learning was in 2 levels: the process of receiving the knowledge and practical engagement. Therefore, the behavior of the parents, teachers, leaders of the nation, super stars, and well known people played very important role on the behavior of a youth.
The strategies in developing the behavior in the Buddhist ways of Ban Khao School had vision, practical plan, methods, and model of behavior. In short, it included the Core factor of the development of human resource which focused on the balance of mater and mind. According to Buddhism, a man could better himself from learning at the beginning. This was to foster the basic foundation of intellectual knowledge and paved for insight knowledge. However, Ban Khoa School implemented two strategies: (1) integrating the Buddhist principles in learning and teaching process in the subject of social studies, ethical training camps, meditation retreat, and participating in all important religious activities, (2) integrating the mutual relationship of community, temple and school in organizing the learning activities and resolving the problems of the students.
Consequently, this study found that the implement of social modeling usage for experienced integral teaching from home, temple and school to develop students’ behavior could positively trained a youth to be a good and smart. The leaders of the community stood as a good example; temple supported in fostering moral and ethical training; schools leaded by directors and teachers wholeheartedly dedicated themselves on teachings all skills in living. Therefore, they could comprehend the value of themselves to the society.
