ABSTRACT
The thesis has of three objecctives, namely : (1) to study the gratefulness behaviors expressed by the high school students toward their parents in Bangkapi School} Bangkapi District, Bangkok Province. (2) to compare the gratefulness behaviors expressed by the high school students toward their parents in Bangkapi School, Bangkapi District, Bangkok Province. (3) to study the recommendations of the way to cultivate the gratefulness behaviors to be possessed by the high school students toward their parents in Bangkapi School Bangkapi District, Bangkok Province.
This study is a survey research. The sample group is 300 high school students. The tools used in this research are the rating scale questionnaire. In the analysis of the Data carried out by finading out the frequency, the average, the standard deviation.
The result found that the students have the knowledge and belief in Buddhist principles or moral on gratefulness at satisfactory level. The gratefulness is the characteristic of good people according to Buddhas’ Teaching. It is the duty of sons and daughters to take care parens. If the sons and the daughters are not grateful to their parents, it is difficult for them to be grateful to others. To perform gratefulness to the parents who are still alive and those who were dead is characteristic of good people. But, the Buddhist Principles of morality in the field of gratefulness of five numbers mentioned above are at the level of medium which should be improved, corrected and developed for the progress in the sons and daughters lives according to the good sons and good daughters dutie according to the principles of teaching in Buddhism.
