ABSTRACT
The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the process of creating network in developing urbanized community in Rai khing sub-district, Sampran district, Nakhon Pathom province 2) to study the participation of organizations and people in developing urbanized community in Rai khing sub-district, Sampran district, Nakhon Pathom province 3) to study problems, barriers and approaches of promoting the participation in developing Rai khing community in Rai khing sub-district, Sampran district, Nakhon Pathom province.
In this research, mixed methodology research was used. With the quantitative research, a researcher conducted a survey of sample group i.e. general people, public sector and private sector in Rai-khing community, Rai khing sub-district, Sampran district, Nakhon Pathom province that involved in the process of creating the network in developing urbanized community in Rai khing sub-district. The population would be 394 out of total 24,866 people by using Taro Yamane formula. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. All data collected from the sample group was analyzed by using statistical analysis in social science, while the content analysis techniques were used to analyze qualitative data (in-depth interview and key informants.
The findings of this research showed that:
1. The process of network creating of the urbanized community development in Rai Khing Sub-District, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom province was found that overall aspects were at an excellent level with the mean scores 3.72. When each aspect was considered separately, it showed that the aspect of society, community economics, community resource and community management were at an excellent level in all aspects. The participation of organizations and people in developing urbanized community in Rai Khing sub-district, Sampran district, Nakhon Pathom province was found that overall aspects were at an excellent level with the mean scores 3.55. When each aspect was considered separately, it showed that the participation of decision-making, implementation, benefit and evaluation were at an excellent level in all aspects.
2. Comparison of the process of participation in creating network for developing the urbanized community in Rai Khing sub-district, Sampran district, Nakhon Pathom province based on personal factors and social factors was found that people with gender, age, status, educational level, occupation, income, period of time living in community, participation in community and group member/network were statistically significant differences, while opinions on the process of participation in creating the network for developing the urbanized community in Rai Khing sub-district was not statistically significant differences, thus, the hypothesis was rejected.
3. Problems, barriers and approaches of promotion of participation in developing Rai King community were found that people were lack of readiness for self-sacrifice for the community in organizing a meeting or providing knowledge to people which was still less. Thus, it should increase the meeting once per week for talking about the problems in developing the approach of promotion of participation. It should open the opportunity for people doing activity together in order for them to feel as a part of community and able to freely propose their ideas in every case. They should give information both positively and negatively for finding out the way of improving and developing the strong and weak points of community development project
