ABSTRACT
The research consists of three main objectives: 1) to study the participation of people in the local development, Nongbuawong Sub-district Municipality,Lamtamenchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province; 2) to compare the participation of people in the local development, Nongbuawong Sub-district Municipality, Lamtamenchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province;3) to investigate problems and suggestions in the participation of people in the local development, Nongbuawong Sub-district Municipality, Lamtamenchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province.
The research study was the quantitative research of which data collection was conducted by questionnaires for the sampling group of 364 populations aging from 16 years old and up in Nongbuawong Sub-district Municipality, Lamtamenchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province. The gathered data were analyzed by using statistical techniques for social science methodology: Frequencies, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation, F-test, and One Way Analysis of Variance (One Way ANOVA). The findings of this research are as follows:
1) The level of people’s opinions concerning participation of people in the local development, Nongbuawong Sub-district Municipality, Lamtamenchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province has been totally found in medium equaling to 2.69.Having considered each aspect, two aspects have been found in medium level: the benefit-involvement 3.25 and the decision making 2.89;meanwhile,the aspect of operation has been found in low level 2.42 and the evaluation 2.24.
2)The result of comparisonconcerning the participation of people in the local development, Nongbuawong Sub-district Municipality, Lamtamenchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province,classified by personal factors, the people with different gender, age, level of education, occupation, and number of years in dwelling,has no different opinion.
3)The participation of people in the local development, Nongbuawong Sub-district Municipality, Lamtamenchai District, Nakhonratchasima Province: 1)the aspect of decision-making: the Sub-District municipalityneeds to promote the participation of people and sincerity to the public to solve the problems of village, and the village’s headis to present a problem for municipalityand gives information to the public in order to understandactivities to do together;2)the operation:there should be meeting related operation of the municipality, and also the municipality should pay attention to workwith people including to add some projectsthat people really need;3)the benefit-involvement: the municipality should equally provide budget to every village and the municipality should administrate instantly and conveniently service to the people; 4)the evaluation:the municipality should provide information to community via microphone or radio and also the budget should be openly informed to the public, and also officers should be checked regularly.
