ABSTRACT
The researchconsists of three main objectives: 1) to study the factors affecting the development of virtues and ethics in the Buddhist schools,MuangNakhonratchasimaDistrict,NakhonratchasimaProvince; 2) to compare public opinion on the personal factors that affect the factors affecting the development of virtues and ethics in the Buddhist Schools,MuangNakhonratchasimaDistrict, NakhonratchasimaProvince; 3) to study the problems and suggestionsconcerning the factors affecting the development of virtues and ethics in the Buddhist Schools,MuangNakhonratchasimaDistrict, NakhonratchasimaProvince.This research conducted by quantitative research in which interviewed366students ofclass 4-6 in RatchasimaWitthayalai Schooland SuraNariWitthaya School,MuangNakhonratchasima, Province. The tool for collecting data was the questionnaire is both closed and open – ended, and the qualitative research by in-depth interviews with 18 key informants. The data analysis wasconducted with the help of Frequency, Percentage, Mean,StandardDeviation (S.D.), F-test, One Way Analysis of Variance (One-Way ANOVA) and Least Significant Difference : LSD.
The findings of this research are as follows:
1. Thefactors affecting the development of virtues and ethics in the Buddhist Schools,MuangNakhonratchasimaDistrict,NakhonratchasimaProvincewere found in high level at 3.90.Having consideredeach aspect, all havebeen foundinhigh level.
2) The result of comparisonin the personal factors that affect the factors affecting the development of virtues and ethics in the Buddhist Schools,MuangNakhonratchasimaDistrict,NakhonratchasimaProvince, classified by personal factors, it has been found thatstudents with gender, age, education, family status, monthly income of parents, occupation of parents, and monthly expense of student, have no different opinions on the development of virtues and ethics in the Buddhist Schools,MuangNakhonratchasimaDistrict,NakhonratchasimaProvince,denying the settled hypothesis.
3) The suggestionsconcerning the factors affecting the development of virtues and ethics in the Buddhist Schools,MuangNakhonratchasimaDistrict,NakhonratchasimaProvince are as follows:1) The honesty:teachers should cultivate the honesty for children to be honest to themselves, work and society; also they need to learn more in order to understand the subject; additionally, there should be checking system tomanage school shop for sale at affordable prices;2) The discipline: the teachers should be proper model in both dressing and behavior, and to stimulate students to make schoolclean;3) The Responsibility:the schoolshould create habits to note home schedule in order to remind student;in the case students did not pay attention in class, they should be punished to stand in front of the class until the end of class; 4) The generality:the teachers holding heavy items should be helped by students; additionally, students should provide some help for friends in the needed time, and give their seats to the elder in the public car;5) The frugality:teachers should stimulatestudents to createsavinghabit, and know how to save money from parents or relatives; in addition, they alsoshould be cultivated to save energy and water including natural resources.
