Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

This research consists of three main objectives, namely; 1) to study the role of monks in ethical and moral development of students in Nonmarkmon Sub-District, Khoksung Distric, Sakaeo Province; 2) to compare the role of monks in ethical and moral development of students in Nonmarkmon Sub-District, Khoksung District, Sakaeo Province, classified by personal factors, and 3) to study problems and suggestions to resolve problems ofn the role of monks in ethical and moral development of students in Nonmarkmon Sub-District, Khoksung District, Sakaeo Province. It is the Mixed methodology research between quantitative research with the help of survey research and qualitative research in which data was collected by using in-depth interviews.

The sampling group was 343 student ot the 4th to 6th class in school of Nonmakmun Sub-District, Khoksung District, Sakaeo Province. There is checklist to evaluate the scale and leel 5 and an open-ended questionnaire. The level of confidence was in 0.886. On the other hand, data were andlyzed by using the package program for social science research. Use statistics were Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standare Deviation, F-test, One-way ANOVA and Least Significant Difference: LSD, determining the statistical significance of 0.05 Level.

 

 

The findings of the study are as follows:

The students’ opinions in the role of monks in ethical and moral development of students in Nonmarkmon Sub-District, Khoksung District, Sakaeo Province, has total been found in good level ( x = 3.92, SD =0.669). Having considered on each apect, all also has been in good level. The ethical and moral behaviours of students have totally been found in high level (x =3.98, SD = 0.512). Having considered in each aspet, it has mostly been found good level

Having considered the role of monks in ethical and moral development students in Nonmarkmon Sub-Dixtrict, Khoksung District, Sakaeo Province, it has been found that the opinions of students with different gender, parents’ status and family members were not different, rejecting the settled hypothesis. Meanwhile, the opinions of monks with divverent age, occupation of parents, results of study, and family’s monthly income were different, accepting the hypothesis.

The patterns of parents support effection the role of monks in ethical and moral development of students in Nonmarkmon Sub-District, Khoksung District, Sakaeo Province, have been found that 31 students trained to gratitude parents were in first level; 29 not violent others in second; and 4 as the hounest in last.
