Abstract
This qualitative thesis, the Model of “Dhamma OD” for Strengthening Peaceful Organizations” is of 3 objectives, i.e. (1) to study the theoretical idea of the training for strengthening peaceful organizations along with the modern science and Theravada Buddhism; (2) to analyze the model of O.D. Dhamma for strengthening peaceful organizations; and (3) to present the model of “Dhamma OD” for strengthening peaceful organizations in the present Thai society.
From the study, it is found the following:
1) The theoretical idea of the training for strengthening peaceful organizations in accordance with the modern science has got interesting technique of Dhamma communicating, trainee analysis, instruments and activities assisting the trainees to obtain the learning to which the training consists of proper types, means, techniques and contents to organizations. The training is the process of grouping, activities, lecturing and communication for the trainees have got the chance to learn about the life skill while the way of teaching in Theravada Buddhism has the choices to use the available media along the situation through the actual incident. Thus, the modern science enhances Dhamma in Buddhism for more interest.
2) The researcher suggests Dhamma OD Training aiming to develop living life emphasizing ‘life skill’ for happiness, efficiency and relationship in working as teamwork, improving it for love, unity, giving honor and respect for peacebuilding in the organizations yielding their personnel 4 kinds of qualities of effectiveness, quality, relationship, and health under the concept “happy life, happily working”. This process of Dhamma OD training is the dissemination in the Buddha’s way by integrating Dhamma in Buddhism with the modern science by developing people for their inner peace; by using: principles, participating activities, teaching media for contemporary Dhamma communication, technology, easy language, and examples from the present incidents, under the means called ‘wise application for fun and essence’ with the adjustment towards Buddhism which is the organizational pursuance by western communication principle ‘SMCR’ of David K. Berlo’s. Dhamma communication comprises of 1) Sender meaning the result of clearness; 2) Message meaning the result of persuasion for having faith; 3) Channel meaning the result of braveness in eagerly behaving and practice; and 4) Receiver meaning that the trainees are happy and enjoy with mutual learning and participation; they are also cheerful with the power of faith leading to wisdom for changing themselves into better ways.
3) From the analysis, it is found that the organizations should follow the Dhamma OD Training Model for Strengthening Peace; Dhamma means the applied Dhamma for the training according to SMCR of David K. Berlo’s, and Strengthening Peaceful Organizations means the 4 Bhavana through body, morality, mind and wisdom which is the aim to develop peaceful organizations.
Hence, the researcher has found “D H A M M A O D”, the new knowledge as ‘A Training Model to Enhance Peace in Organizations’, which is a proper training model to the present Thai society, comprising of 1) ‘D’ is the training for having discipline and respecting the rules in living together; 2) ‘H’ is the development of being humans and creating human relationship in living together; 3) ‘A’ is the training for self-improvement with good will and effort; 4) ‘M’ is the training to be mindful, realize problems and be able to solve them, and stay at the present moment; 5) ‘M’ is meditation practice creating peace in one’s mind; 6) ‘A’ is adjustment of attitude and behaviour; 7) ‘O’ is an organization with different people; and 8) ‘D’ is the development of personnel in accordance with ‘the Four Bhāvanā’, the principle of mental development which is harmonized with ‘Sikkhāttaya’, the principle of the Threefold Learning or Training comprising of morality, concentration and wisdom; all of which lead to peaceful organization.
