Abstract

Abstract

          This thesis has three purposes: 1) to study the principles of fourteen precepts that appear in the Theravada Buddhist Scriptures. 2) to study the precepts of the principles of monk’s fourteen precepts in Buddha time, and 3) to study the application of the principles the life of monks in Thai society and in today's society. The data for this research was collected from documents and fieldwork.

          The research has been found that

          The fourteen precepts that appear in Scripture of Theravada Buddhism is that of a monk who should behave and obey the principles of the Dharma and discipline. Non-fourteen precepts, resulting in punishment. But the practice of following fourteen precepts brought benefits to the monk and Buddhism.

          The practice of fourteen precepts principle of Buddhist monks in Buddhism: The Buddha is an example of the practice of fourteen precepts, and is a noble disciple as example as in the practice of fourteen precepts, namely, Anyakonthanya,Thera, Revatakhadiravaniya Thera, Ananda Thera and Mahakassapa Thera. The performance of the monk's fourteen precepts strengthens Buddhism more stable.

        The practical use of the principles of fourteen of precepts in the life of monks in society today is five.1) Application of the principles of Fourteen precepts of precepts for Consumption the 4 factors in Buddhism. 2) Application of the principles of fourteen of precepts to enhance the social and human relationship beautiful. 3) Application of the principles of fourteen of precepts to strengthen the stability of Buddhism. 4) Application of the principles of Fourteen of precepts for the creation of a good heirloom according to Buddhism and 5) Application of the principles of Fourteen of precepts for care and cleaning of temples and other places within the temple.
