Abstract

                 The objectives of the research were as follows: 1) to study the components of ecotourism development in Muangkaen Municipality, Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai Province, 2) to study the development of ecotourism in Muangkaen Municipality, Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai Province, and 3) to apply the four principles of Iddhapãda of ecotourism management in Muangkaen municipality, Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai province. This study is mixed method research by quantitative research and qualitative research. The samples are electorate over 18 years old, 400 populations in education by choosing the people in Muang municipality, Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai province from 11,162 populations and qualitative research by interviewing In-Depth Interview with key informants and use contextual content analysis techniques.

The findings of this research as follows:

                 1) To study the components of ecotourism development in Muang Kaen Municipality, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province. The overall satisfaction of people were at the high level (= 4.06, S.D. = 0.630). When considering each aspect was found at the high level all aspects. People's opinions can be sorted as follows: Area satisfaction was at the highest level (= 4.15, S.D. = 0.779)

                 2) Ecotourism development in Muang Kaen Municipality, Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai province found that Muang Kaen Municipality was to operate by linking individuals or groups of people involved in tourism development into four groups as follows: 1) executives network, 2) community leaders, 3) public sector network, 4) entrepreneurial network. It's a nice city, be generous, and there are lifestyle that admire tourists to experience the natural way of life, arts & culture , historic city, basic farmer and agriculture still supports ecotourism as well. The content of tourist attractions in Muang Kaen Municipality there are natural and environmental capitals that accommodate to tourism, good soil, good water, good nature, art and culture, ancient civilization, traditional way of life, beautiful nature, culture of their own and local lifestyle. The link in tourism landscape have systematic route map, local volunteer guides, 4 accessible routs, road of tourism, travel advice board, temple, winter festival in Muang Kaen, Inthakhin furnace, Phra Chao Sam Fang Kaen Munument, Inthakhin City Pillar and homestay in order to support tourists and ecotourism development as well.

                 3) The principle of four Iddhipãdas application are to manage ecotourism in  Muang Kaen Municipality, Mae Taeng district, Chiang Mai. The principle of four Iddhipãdas are still the principles of management leading to successful achievement, Chanda, Viriya, Citta and Vimamsã. The diligence is attention to the work, analysis, improvement, development that can be increased the effectiveness management of tourism development as well, to adapt to work, love to work diligent working, responsible for work and to recognize thoroughly in tourism development, it will complete and sustainable ecotourism development.     

                 Policy recommendations should be promoted the implementation of the policy in order to set it up for truly adoption, the junior guides, local guides continuous and concrete. To create jobs in the community to benefit the people, seriously tourism development both the form of knowledge, understanding and promoting the application consistent with the area condition to be truly fruitful. Action, administrators of Municipality must have the vision of management, responsibility, consciousness of work, considering into the benefits of the people and resources usage such as human being (personnel and people), budgets, materials and others worthily in order to maximize benefits for the people in the community and ecotourism produces clear result.
