Abstract
The objectives of the thesis entitled “Behavioral Development of Holistic Health Care according to Buddhist way of the Elderly in Pa Sang Sub-District Municipality, Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province.” are as follows; 1) to study the Holistic Health Care Behavioral according to Buddhist way of the Elderly in Pa Sang. 2) to compare the level of Holistic Health Care Behavioral according to Buddhist way of the Elderly in Pa Sang classified by personal factors. 3) to study the application of the principles to the four Bhavanas for Behavioral Development of Holistic Health Care according to Buddhist way of the Elderly in Pa Sang Sub-District Municipality, Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province. This study is mixed methods research. The populations and the samples were the elderly in Pa Sang Municipality. By using Taro Yamane's sample calculation formula to determine the sample size, with 95% confidence level. According to 333 number of samples.
The research shown that
1. The behavior level of holistic health care according to Buddhist way of the elderly in Pa Sang is moderate level, moreover according to personal factors, the mental aspect was highest, followed by intelligence and physical, The society has the lowest average in the sector. On the other hand, the application of the principles of The four Bhavanas found that morality is the most important, mentality is at the bottom and intelligence and physical are in the middle.
2. The comparison of the level of holistic health care behavioral according to Buddhist way of the Elderly in Pa Sang by separating into 5 factors: gender, age, degree, position and working time. The researcher found that the samples that have different factors but their opinions towards the human resource development applying the four Bhavanas were 0.05 of significance.
3. The guidelines of applying the principles of the Four Bhavana for behavioral development of holistic health care according to Buddhist way of the elderly in Pa Sang Sub-District Municipality, Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province found that.
Physical aspect, Elderly people should exercise that they can practice and eat healthy and nutritious food. They also should see a doctor regulary for health check-ups.
Moral aspect, Elderly people should behave according to the Five Precepts ; control their bodies, speeches and minds in order to live with a happy life.
Mental aspect, Elderly people should participate in activities that make their life happy, valuable, utmost for a better life Moreover, they should always study the Dhamma for peace of mind.
Intellectual aspect, Elderly people should seek knowledge to develop their minds by practicing meditation which leading to enlightenment and tranquility of mind.
