Abstracts
This research is of 4 proposes as to 1) to study the monks’ role in each level of the social development for Li district, Lamphun province, 2) to compare the role of monk in the social development for Li district, Lamphun province, 3) to study about problems that occur with the role of monk in the social development for Li district, Lamphun province, 4) to seek the solution for solving problems and development the role of monk in the social development, Li district, Lamphun province. The study case group is monks, Li district, Lamphun province. 45 persons by choosing with specific. Tool that used for collecting the data is questionnaire and interviewing, the statistics that used for data analysis is percentage, mean, standard deviation and F-test. One-way analysis of variance (One way ANOVA) to analyze data. The research found that;
(1) The respondents were between 36-45 years old. The Buddhism monastery age ranged from 11-15 years old. The bishops of the majority of respondents are primate or abbot.
(2) The role of monk in each level in the social development, Li district, Lamphun province. The overall is on a medium level in two parts : the part of education and the part of culture are in the medium level. The results of the comparison of the role of monks in social development in Li district were classified by personal factors found that the age of monk, the Buddhism monastery age, education level and the position of the monk, these are significant differences in statistical significance.
(3) Problems, obstructions and suggestions of the role of monks in social development: How to make the potentiality that has expressed to the role of leader that leads to the role of community development in other parts effectively. The part of education, the coordinating the system of HTS (home, temple and school) is lacked of effective and personnel knowledgeable in the transfer of the knowledge integration in the part of culture: publicizing is not attracted the attention of adolescents
or new generation and the majority of participants are elder, the youth group is less.
